Happy Thanksgiving
A Happy Thanksgiving Day to all my friends and furballs. The smell of turkey is wafting through the halls but I'll bet Scooter and I are getting turkey cat food, unless you-know-who feels generous. I hope Scooter behaves himself so that we get some table turkey.
Speaking of Scooter, he's growing and with his size and youth, he is a pain. What's-his-name calls him "Destructo" and rightfully so, 'cause the little shit breaks everything. Fortunately, I don't get any blame. Although I kinda like him, he always wants to play. The only peace I get is when he sleeps.
Thankfully, he'll soon be taking a trip to the vet and maybe he'll slow the pace when he goes to lick himself and finds parts missing.
I have been remiss in posting because the new kid takes up everyone's time. Hopefully, I can get back at it after "Destructo's" trip to the vet.
That's it for now. I hope everyone enjoys their thanksgiving meal and I hope everyone gets a drumstick.

I've Got A New Baby Brother
By now, I'm sure you're aware of a new addition to my household. His name is Scooter and what's-his-name found him trapped under the hood of his car. It was scared, trembling and definitely dirty, so he adopted him.
I wasn't very thrilled at the time but you-know-who can be boring when he's watching TV and doesn't want to play. I do like playing with Scooter until he becomes petulant and I have to move to higher ground.
He's a cute little guy but he needs to learn to respect his elders and I intend to teach him. What's-his-name thinks he's cute too because he resembles Possum. Of course, he doesn't think he's so cute when he uses his little kitten claws to climb up his leg.
Thankfully, what's-his-name found Theodora Bear to help calm down the rambunctious Scooter, because to be frank, the only time both you-know-who and I can relax is when Scooter takes his nap with Theodora.
So, I guess I have a little brother now. I'm sure I'll learn to like him more once he learns his manners.
That's it for now. More soon.

It's My Toy
I must admit that I've been remiss in attending my journal. You-know-who has been obsessed with his new toys which were given to him for his birthday by Luly and Sandra. These toys were meant for ME and HE decides when we play with them.
The headline picture is the cat's paw Sandra bought pour moi. It moves and makes meow sounds, obviously meant for a cat. Obviously some people can't tell the difference
The main reason I wanted to post today was to say hello to all my Facebook family, friends and furballs. What's-his-name is always on the computer and I rarely get to use it. I tried to trick him by sleeping on the keyboard hoping he'd fall asleep in his recliner, but he woke up when he heard me login.
For those of you who subscribe or follow Possum's Journal on Facebook, please send me pics of your pets. You can post them on my Facebook blog and I'll be sure to add them.
Of course, the Black Cat group are of utmost importance to me since I am, indeed, black. I mean not like Obama, as his pedigree is questionable, at best.
So there you have it my furry little friends. You can also follow me on Facebook by clicking "Follow This Blog" on the Network Blogs app in the upper right of the page. I will try to post more often.

Happy New Year My Little Furballs !
Happy New Year my fuzzy little friends! What's-his-name and I wish you a very prosperous and healthy new year, a clean litter box and plenty of treats and food on your tables. Remember to show your love and kiss your pets (first), family and friends.
I wanted to go out and paint the town but you-know-who said there were too many amateur drinkers in the streets, so we stayed home.

Merry Christmas from Samantha And What's-His-Name
Merry Christmas to everyone from Samantha, Possum (in heaven) and Jimmy. A special wish to my pals that Santa Claws brought you special treats. Santa didn't eat the cat treats I left him but I'm sure he was hurrying to bring you guys your treats.

Happy Fourth of July To My Pet Pals ! (Fireworks=Hide)
Happy Fourth of July to everyone, especially my pals Hoss, Jeffy, Junior, Lady, Lilly, Misty, Molly, Neo, Nino, Piper, Rikki, Riley, Sera, Susie, Xena and all the other pet friends that what's-his-name can't remember.
Quite a few of my animal friends have passed over the Rainbow Bridge including Possum S. Hemmingway. You may be gone, but you are, and always will be, in our hearts.
I would also be remiss not to mention the countless animal lovers who allow us to share our lives with them and their lives with us. God bless you all.
I would especially like to mention my reincarnated friend, Sandra Gato Perrov (nee Gatov) for her doting, loving and never ending attention to pets and animals.
I have to remember my friend, Paula and her moo-cows and turtles. Also a love shout out to my Uncle Tom and Aunt Michelle from Samantha.
Have a great holiday and remember, fireworks and animals don't mix.
Samantha and Possum.

Happy Thanksgiving From Samantha
Wishing all my friends and pals a very Happy Thanksgiving. I'm pretty settled in at my forever home and what's-his-name seems to be a good guy. I would like to to thank my benefactors, Tom and Michelle, for helping me find a nice home.
Going over Possum's notes and posts has kept me busy and I'm happy he left me with the inside info on how to deal with you-know-who.
My kitten experiences on the streets (pictured above) left me a bit jumpy at times, but Jimmy let's me do what I want. I appreciate his love and I always accompany him when he goes to his litter box.
He usually takes a newspaper with him and doesn't seem very appreciative when I bat it with my paw. It's hard teaching an old dog new tricks.
We made a video (Jimmy filmed it and I had the starring role, of course). Although Jimmy narrates it, you may not be able to hear it unless you use the tool at the bottom left of my journal to mute the music. It looks like this ( II ).
Either way, his comments are second only to my superb acting and an Oscar may not be out of the question.
There you have it my friends. I hope your day is a happy one. What's-his-name told me that I'm going to get a piece of turkey later. He says it makes him sleepy. I guess that makes me Samantha.....
My Pictures The little guy loves his Mom. I miss my Mom too. Sometimes I make bread on Jimmy's tummy and that helps me remember her. Jimmy misses Possum, too.

Conclusion: They're tiny women in little fur coats.

A Video From Samantha
Hi, it's Samantha and I'm getting bigger living with my new human, Jimmy. He has discovered how to use his cell phone camera and who better than me to be the star. Of course, it took him thirty minutes to get it right and frankly I was getting a bit tired of his antics, but he seemed to be happy so I let him play.
Nevertheless, this is our first production, so don't expect too much. Remember, I wasn't adopted by Steven Spielberg Hope you like it and hope to post more soon.

My Name Is Samantha
My name is Samantha and my new human, Jimmy, adopted me on April 30th, 2014. I'm unsure of what "adoption" means because I had made friends with Tom and Michelle, who fed me and petted me.
They were afraid that their long time family dog, Lady, might eat me for lunch one day, but I'm pretty sure I could have charmed her. They decided they didn't want to take the chance and posted a picture of me on Facebook looking for a good home. Jimmy answered the call.
So one day, Tom took me to the vet for vaccinations and something else which we didn't discuss. The next thing I know, I'm riding with Jimmy to his house. Jimmy's says I got fixed, which I don't really understand. I'm relatively sure that I wasn't broken, but I digress.
I'm slowly adjusting to my new home and Jimmy gives me a lot of food and pets me. It's still a little scary, though. Twenty days ago I was a free spirit. Then I met Tom and Michelle who I love. Then, the next thing I know, I'm living in a new home and my "hoo-hoo" hurts from being "fixed".
I like it here, but Jimmy doesn't remember my name very well. Sometimes he calls me Possum and even Possum's notorious nickname. I don't mind that so much 'cause I know how much he misses Possum.
I don't think he's sure about my name. Sometimes he calls me "Blackie" and even worse, he often call me "Cat". The thing that really gets me is that he occasionally refers to me as "He" and "Boy". Hello? I'm a girl, thank you. Reading Possum's notes gave me some insight though.
See, Jimmy gave me all of Possum's old notes and files so that I could continue the tradition of Possum's Journal. Possum referred to him a lot as "What's His Name" or "You Know Who" and I'm betting that was Possum's reaction to having his name occasionally mangled, as well. Nevertheless, Possum seemed to love 'ol "What's His Name" (Lol).
I'm going to try to continue writing Possum's Journal and I know I've got some big pawprints to follow, but I'm gonna do my best. I hope all of Possum's friends and followers will give me a chance.
Possum S. Hemmingway must have been a pretty special cat and my only hope is that I will become special to all of his friends as well.
My Pictures This is Lady and her humans are Tom and Michelle. I think she would have liked me. She's cute !

Conclusion: They're tiny women in little fur coats.
A woman found out her dog could hardly hear so she took it to the veterinarian. He found that the problem was hair in its ears. He cleaned both ears and the dog could hear fine.
The vet then proceeded to tell the lady that if she wanted to keep this from recurring she should go to the store and get some "Nair" hair remover and rub it in the dog's ears once a month.
The woman goes to the drug store and gets some "Nair" hair remover. At the register the druggist tells her, "If you're going to use this under your arms don't use deodorant for a few days."
The woman says, "I'm not using it under my arms." The druggist says, "If you're using it on your legs don't shave for a couple of days."
The woman says, "I'm not using it on my legs either. If you must know, I'm using it on my schnauzer." The druggist says, "Better stay off your bicycle for a week or two."

In Memoriam - Possum S. Hemmingway
With the utmost regret, I have the painful duty to tell you that my beloved cat, Possum, passed away on March 30th, 2014. I made an announcement on Jimmy's Journal early in April, but I have been unable to pen his memorial without crying.
I found Possum in a dumpster sometime in 2003. He was just a kitten and I adopted him. We have spent the last eleven or so years together and he was always my faithful companion.
About a month before he died, he had become a bit lethargic and I began to realize the end was near. He died peacefully and in no pain.
After Possum passed, my first thoughts were that I would not adopt any new animal because of the unbearable pain of his loss. Thanks to the encouragement of my family, friends and very dear Facebook friends, I have adopted a little juvenile black female kitty who was found by Tom and Michelle, a loving couple in Pembroke Pines.
Tom and Michelle were unable to keep the kitten because they already have a large German shepherd who rules the roost. They were so caring that the arranged and paid for the female to be spayed and vaccinated at their own cost.
I have yet to name the kitten, being torn between several names. She is currently with me, recovering from her surgery on Friday. She is becoming familiar in her new home and is eating well.
Possums Journal will continue to be published and will be narrated in future posts by my black kitten. Anyone who has a loss and wishes me to publish a small memorial is welcome to email me with their story.
Possum now joins his pals Gabi Lin, Luke the Wonder Dog, Zoey and Coatie on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. Although the journal will have a new narrator, the name will never change. It will always be Possum's Journal.
Rest in peace, my sweet Possum. I will always love you.....

Happy Saint Catrick's Day !
It's been a while since I've posted, but things have been a bit hectic. Nevertheless, I'm making a quick entry to wish everyone a Happy St.
Remember, we cats are delicate creatures and subject to a good many ailments. None of us, however, suffer from insomnia. There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast.....
My Pictures Nice hat, baby !
The Cat's Meow And Puppy Dog Tales: Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods. We have never forgotten this. So, do not meddle in the affairs of cats for we are subtle and will pee on your computer keyboard.
There are many intelligent species in the universe. They are all owned by cats. As every cat carer knows, nobody owns a cat.
